This unique and also oddly appealing little showplace has actually had a difficult time making a go of it also prior to it opened up. It was initially designed to be a six screener, but not long after the structure was laid, the property was gained by Cineplex Odeon that chose to go via a sleek cubist design with 5 spacious and also decorative auditoriums rather than the cadaverous earth tone aluminum monstrosity that the original owners had actually intended. The Merchants Walk location was very family oriented at the moment and the Merchants Exadjust remained in a primo location sandwiched in between a Chuck E Cheese and a Leaps and also Bounds.

Opened August 21, 1987, the theatre ran a pretty secure fair of all ages flicks to reasonably huge audiences. As this location ended up being more commercial and congested, the Merchants Exreadjust centre started to loose its luster. The tunneling and also sphere swimming attractions were coming to be conventional features in the playrooms of McDonald’s and enterprises such as Leaps and also Bounds can not complete. Cineplex Odeon disappeared overnight leaving behind a bevy of cinemas via no monitoring. Only a couple of of the Cineplex Odeon cinemas were got by the other circuits in town and the balance were shuttered. This was closed in 2000. It reopened up in reopened in June 2002 but closed aacquire in October 2002.

The current proprietors, Picture Sexactly how Entertainments changed both the name (Picture Show) and also format (cinema and also drafthouse) of the venue once it reopened up March 19, 2004. Hopetotally they’ll perform well on it. It was a pretty neat location.

I don’t think they are running it as a Cinema/drafthouse. It’s simply a dollar movie place, although a beauticompletely ran, clean dollar movie. It really is a nice location to watch a movie, and although I’ve only been twice it’s been busy both times.

I was functioning tbelow as a projectionist in 1988. So I think the opening date was even more choose 1987. Man, I could tell some stories about that place. I was functioning for Septum at the Holcomb Woods 6 in Roswell in 1986. Septum was bought by Plitt and also shortly after that Cineplex Odeon was in charge. As lengthy as my inspect arrived I really didn’t treatment who owned the area. Septum started structure and then stopped for a year or so. I lived in Marietta and wanted to job-related at Merchants Exadjust when it opened. It appeared prefer it took forever before. I transfered over from Holcomb Woods and worked tbelow some before the area was open up. Garth Drabinski(CEO of Cineplex Odeon) was there on opening day. We did pretty well at the box, I remember that we break-up all the product with the General Cinema theater at Merchant’s Walk around a fifty percent mile ameans. The lobby at Merchants Exreadjust was awesome. Yes, the original 6 plex design was scrapped for a 5 plex, but the 6th auditorium was turned right into the lobby!(Septum loved those tiny lobbies). The lobby was truly good. The monitoring maintained altering, I was constantly bringing some new manager up to speed. The booth was additionally outstanding. All 5 projectors where in the exact same room, one huge room. It gained pretty loud in tbelow. I can go on and also on….. I think many type of of us high schoolers had some actual good times in that area. As I recall, at one after hours party, we drove a tiny vehicle with the front door, up the handicap ramp and also into the lobby. Crazy children.
